I'm deep into the shoot of Daughter of the Sun, a short film that takes a look at the legend of the Cailleach Bheara or Hag of Beara. The wonderful Aisling O Connell is embodying various aspects the Cailleach on screen. Kindly funded by an Arts Council of Ireland Agility Award and a bursary from Cork County Council Arts Office, this will be my most direct engagement with the landscape I grew up in and in which I made my first films.
In spite of circumstances, the past year has been a creatively fertile one. Expect more exciting announcements about new work in the coming months!
