SOLITAIRE to Premiere at Cork International Film Festival

Big news!! My latest feature film, Solitaire, will premiere this November 16th at 8.30pm as part of Cork International Film Festival's Parallax strand.

Solitaire is an unsettling experimental ghost story that explores family, home, identity and gender as unfixed parasitic entities that propagate themselves through bodies and buildings. Taking a wordless, visually poetic approach to its story, it is at once deeply mysterious and emotionally accessible in its imagining of these universal themes. A brother returns to his family home after a long absence to find his sister dead. As their identities merge, they find it impossible to re-enter their house, which seems possessed by an entity that is at once maternal and childlike. But darker energies are lurking in the background…

Solitaire was written, filmed, directed and edited by me. The sound is created by Karen Power. The film stars Natasha Bourke and Aisling O Connell. It is an Experimental Film Society production funded by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon.
